Learn about Sterling North and Hear an Excerpt From Rascal

Sterling North spent his childhood in Edgerton, making wonderful memories with his many pets, especially his beloved raccoon, Rascal.  Sterling had a great love of animals and nature. Although his autobiography, Rascal, tells of his adventures on Lake Koshkonong, Saunders Creek and at the Indianford Dam when he was eleven years old, he didn't write the book until he was fifty-seven years old.  It's obvious that he treasured all of those childhood memories for a lifetime.

Join members of the Sterling North Society as they present a slide show where you can learn about this beloved author's life.  After seeing the slides, you'll be treated to hearing excerpts of Rascal read by Dick Radtke.
Richard Radtke is the author of six novels; two collections of short stories; and a memoir, Persistence of Vision. His work has appeared in the Wisconsin Academy Review; Prime Times; Julien’s Journal; Writers of Wisconsin anthology; Lines in the Sand; and the Wisconsin Writer’s Jade Ring Anthology.
Dick served as a lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and operated his own writing and editing firm, Dick Radtke Public Relations. He lives in Madison.
